The Appalachian South Folklife Center maintains a membership program with a variety of levels. Our members are an important part of a large family of contributors and participants here at the Center.
We know there are folk far and wide who love the ASFC who have had life-changing experiences here. What Don and Connie created - the place, the programs, the history, and the spirit - have captivated many for decades. In order for us to move forward with the work Don West started, we have to think of new ways to expand the financial support of the ASFC. We feel the membership program is just one way we can accomplish this. Over the years, many work camps leaders and parents of Learning Day Camp have suggested a membership program.
What does this mean for me?
It means that our membership program will not exclude anyone. It means that we need your financial help to keep us moving forward and this is a new way for you to help us!
What does membership look like?
We're glad you asked! There are three levels of membership: Regular, Sustaining, and Life.
Regular membership is $60 a year ($5 per month) includes a laminated membership card, an ASFC bumper sticker, and the ASFC newsletter.
Sustaining membership is $120 a year ($10 per month) includes regular membership benefits as well as a reduced price t-shirt and 10% off ASFC produced events* and merchandise. (*This does not include Culturefest which is not administered by ASFC.)
Lifetime membership is any substantial donation of $1,000 or more and includes all of the regular and sustaining membership benefits as well as a copy of No Lonesome Road, a lifetime member sticker, and two tickets for Culturefest during the year you contribute.
The work we do here at the ASFC needs to have a sustaining financial base. We need you and we hope you'll join us today!
